Money Matters - Scholarships

The GFWC-NCTeaching Scholarship is a new scholarship which will be awarded for the first time in 2011. This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding rising college junior (male or female) who must be a North Carolina resident attending a college or university in North Carolina, who has declared their major in education to become a K-12 teacher. Each applicant must be sponsored by a Federated club in good standing with GFWC-NC. This means that students interested in applying should contact a club in their area to find out about the process the club uses to select the student it will sponsor, including the deadline for applications. Local winners compete at the district contest which may be held at the district Arts Festival, and the district winners then compete at the state level for this scholarship, which will be a one-time award of $2,500.

•  Scholastic record

•  Demonstration of ambition and leadership

•  Potential to succeed

•  Financial need

Please use the remittance form found online or in the Administration Book and when sending contributions to GFWC-NC Headquarters.
